![]() After successfully developing his video game, named 'Stache Smash, Eggman begins marketing it in the Village Center, but is soon chided by Tails and Knuckles they criticize the game's archaic format and insist that games based on motion capture offer a superior product. This inspires him to create his own video game in his own image to enhance his reputation. Thoughtful, Eggman considers a way to improve his personal image when he witnesses the sale of the newly-released Tommy Thunder video game. Sonic, in response, contends that such a reaction is the result of his history of malicious behavior. Jeered by onlookers in the wake of his defeat, Eggman, perceiving himself as the victim of the situation, is confused. Now enraged, Eggman dispatches a number of his robots to attack Sonic, who handily destroys them. However, in his attempt to do so, Eggman merely covers himself with more mud. Immediately apologetic, Sonic freely allows Eggman the opportunity to splash him with mud in retribution. Upon arrival in the village, Sonic accidentally splashes Eggman, who was buying groceries, with mud as he passes. Wasting no time, Sonic extricates himself from the race and heads towards Hedgehog Village. The race is cut short, however (much to Knuckles' relief), when Sonic is interrupted by an "emergency" transmission from Amy on his Communicator, who requests that Sonic purchase eggs from the local marketplace for a baked Alaska she is making. Sonic takes the opportunity to propose a race to Tails, who excitedly accepts, oblivious to Knuckles being slammed into several rocks as a result of his reckless driving. There, he is met by Tails, operating his vehicle with Knuckles in tow on a hoverboard. On a Sunday afternoon, Sonic is joyriding in his car through the local canyon. When Eggman tries to recruit Shadow to help him bring more evil to his video game, it has dangerous consequences for Sonic and his friends.
